There are minor exterior styling revisions, including new taillights and grille. Inside, Bluetooth hands-free cell phone connectivity, steering wheel-mounted audio controls and a USB audio input jack are now standard on all models. The side curtain airbags now incorporate a rollover sensor. Finally, the third-row seat option has been dropped.

Cons:
  • Ride quality on SE and Limited models may be too firm for some buyers.

  • Not happy with service and Hyundai - 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe
    By -

I bought this car and am not happy with the car primarily bc. Hyundai refuses to address my problems with the Air Conditioner. It has a vinegar like smell and the several dealerships refuse to admit that there is a problem. I have owned several Hondas and foreign cars and never before have I met a manufacturer that wont admit to a manufacturing defect. Hyundai has an attitude of superiority starting from the sales department and heading down to the service arena. They dont know how to take care of their customers and treat them with respect and dignity; instead they make you feel as though you are imagining the problem. I will never buy another Hyundai due to lack of integrity!

  • Transmissions.. a re-occuring theme? - 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe

After repeatedly complaining about the jerking shift on our 2010 SF, the dealership finally replaced the transmission. The replacement was okay for a while, but it seemed as soon as the cooler weather hit, we started having a new problem. Now the vehicle seems to shift "down" when coasting in lower gears. Now the downshift is accentuated by "missing", causing the engine to red-line when attempting to overtake another vehicle attempting 15kpm speed increase. Waiting to hear ... again ... how Hyundai will be resolving this. The SF has 45K on it. Our previous vehicles had 250+km and 350+km on original drive trains. This is not what I was looking for in a new vehicle.

  • Great car - 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe

Bought this as an import fan, and havent been disappointed. Have owned Acura, Mazda, and VW prior to this, and I can say that its of equal, if not better quality, than the lot of them. Fun to drive, and the 3.5L V6 is a no brainer if youre considering this. I test drove many of the competitors in this class, and none compared value wise. 276 hp makes it a great choice if you like to experience where youre going as opposed to just getting there.

  • Value Price - 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe

Second Santa Fe, wife still owns 2005 which has had no problems in 5 years. Excellent value for the money. A lot more sportier look, better acceleration and improved gas mileage make it a winner.

  • Hyundai added features are nice. - 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe

While GM keeps cutting features from their vehicles, Hyundai keeps adding more technology and value to theirs.

  • Nice car, terrible mileage - 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe
    By -

I got this car in March 2010. It is extremely comfortable and has great standard features like heated leather seats. Looks like a much more expensive car on the inside. I have had several minor mechanical problems that needed fixing, which is annoying but not fatal. The worst thing about the car is the terrible mileage it gets. It says 20/28 - I have never even come close to 28 on the highway even with total highway driving and driving conservatively. The best you can hope for is about 18/21 and thats driving conservatively. How they got the EPA rating they have on this car is a mystery.

  • A lot of bang for the buck - 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe
    By -

The Santa Fe is just the right size for me, not too small like the CRV or RAV4 but still small enough to be fun to drive. I bought the Limited with navigation, and the IPOD integration, blue tooth, and nav system, and satellite radio and backup camera all work wonderfully. The 6 cylinder has great pick-up. Ive been averaging 21 MPG with mostly city driving. Taking some 6 footers out to lunch, they found the back seat roomy and comfortable. The cargo room is very spacious. The paint job is top-notch. Fit and finish inside and outside are outstanding. The dash controls are wonderfully laid out. The leather seats up front with the power seat is very comfortable.

  • Very Decent If Purchased Correctly - 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe
    By -

This is a medium term follow up. I have owned this unit about 6 months with about 5k miles on it. Simply put, I went in with low expectations but it is growing on me. I had the issues with the transmission like many. Three trips to the dealer (flash upgrades and a fluid refill due to a dealer mistake) followed by disconnecting the battery for 30 seconds (computer reset) finally sorted it out. Now the vehicle drives smoothly with only an occasional missed shift. Mediocre MPG (about 16 to 18 city). All around, though, for the price (purchased at wholesale) it is hard to beat.

  • Poor Gas Mileage so far - 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe
    By -

Greetings, I knew my new SUV is fine with the exception of the gas mileage. Im getting about 16-17 MPG driving in the suburbs. Everyone tells me the mileage will get better after 3,000 miles. I have about 1,500 so far. I sure hope so.

  • A very solid vehicle - 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe
    By -

Mine is a Limited, FWD. Bought in June of 2010. Just turned 37,000 miles. Runs great. Nice power and handling. 20-22 mpg combined winter and summer--all right for v-6 w 276hp. Has been completely reliable thus far with absolutely no mechanical issues at all! The only complaints I have are the road noise at highway speeds and its sensitivity in acceleration from a standstill, it wants to jump right out there...not much room for finesse. If you need to floor it to pass or maneuver, it takes a noticeable lapse of time where it does nothing ( like a turbo hesitating before it kicks in) and then it snaps to and takes off. Aside from these things, its been a great vehicle.
